QUALIFICATION FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF THE INTERNATIONAL VIS MOOT COMPETITION

From March 1 to March 6, 2026, an international Vis Moot training dedicated to preparation for the “International Commercial Arbitration” competition was held in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the Commercial Law Development Program. Representatives of 24 universities from 16 Asian countries participated in the training.

At this event, the Republic of Tajikistan was represented by a team from the Tajik State University of Commerce. The team consisted of its leader — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor and Head of the Innovation Center Saidmukhtor Saidakhrorovich Mukhtorzoda, as well as students Makhfirat Fayzullozoda, Abubakr Gadoev, Farrukh Fayzaliev, Usmon Nurov, and Komron Kahhorov.

The main objective of the program is to cooperate with developing countries to improve the legal and regulatory environment for the development of trade, investment, and entrepreneurial activities.

One of the important areas of the program’s activities is the development of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms and the implementation of VIS MOOT programs aimed at improving the legal and business environment, developing legal infrastructure, modernizing legislation, providing training and certification, and increasing awareness and the use of ADR mechanisms.

At the end of the event, student presentations were discussed and a question-and-answer session with program participants was held, after which the winners were determined.

It is a matter of pride that the team of the Tajik State University of Commerce demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skills and received qualification for the next round, which will be held in Hong Kong.
